It is always a compliment to be hired by someone with a true passion for photography. Amy’s father, Tom, has a discerning eye for good light and strong composition and was the first to meet with me in the studio. His only daughter was getting married and he wanted to be 100% sure that the chosen photography team could handle a dimly lit, early winter wedding. These lighting conditions are not for the faint of heart and we were prepared to rise to the challenge.
We first met in January (our BUSIEST booking month of the year!) and I was thrilled to become their photographer soon after. I know what an important decision this was to Amy and Rich and their families and we were thrilled to be behind the lens on the big day!
Amy and Rich attended elementary school together in Charlotte but went their separate ways thereafter. Fast nearly 15 years, and the two reconnected post-college via mutual friends. Both were living in New York City and sparks flew between them!!
Their happiness is absolutely contagious and capturing them was a joy. These two WERE FULLY PRESENT for every moment of their 11.26.16 wedding day. They didn’t let stress or anxiety steal a moment of their joy and the images reflect all the love they felt this day.
Alyssa and I secretly crush on winter weddings and this one had all of our favorite elements….rich fall colors in the trees (that orange and red!!!!), twinkling lights at their dusk ceremony and some killer night shot opportunities. This wedding had a great mix of NYC style and Carolina charm and we loved every single second.
To the new Mr. and Mrs. Summers, we wish you both a lifetime of love ahead. May these images remind you of the emotional high you rode this day in Charlotte, NC. Every person who attended felt it and I hope anyone who sees the images below will feel it too.
Merry Christmas to you and wishing you a fantastic 2017 (and beyond!)
