Elizabeth reached out to us in August of 2016. She had only been engaged for 2 weeks but photography was at the top of her priority list.
She told me she had been watching Old South online (Facebook and Instagram) for years before she was even engaged. I don’t know if I can describe how grateful I am to all of you who follow our work even in the season before you have a ring on! I, Julie, am the owner and blog/social media gal and it takes about 10-15 hours/week for me to remain active, relevant and current on all of our social media channels. It can feel lonely at times (since few actually comment v. all who visit) and hearing those words means so much to me!
We were on the preferred photographer list at both Duke Mansion (venue for the rehearsal dinner) and Providence Country Club (venue for the reception) and we seemed like a perfect match.
Elizabeth is a classic, southern beauty. She looked truly breathtaking on her 5.6.17 wedding day. I love that sweet connection she shares with her Mom. Those tender moments helping her into her gown are typically my favorite on a wedding day. As the mom of 2 girls myself, seeing that heartfelt emotion takes my breath. What we capture is so much more than just a moment in time…it is one of the most beautiful connections between a mother and her baby (now bride). That love passed on from parent to child will spill into the next relationship Elizabeth will invest in…that is the one with Danny that she vowed to cherish in front of all their friends and family at Myers Park Methodist Church. The legacy of love we witness and capture on wedding days is amazing. This job absolutely blesses my own life and all the ladies of Old South.
Enjoy a walk through their beautiful day. We wish the new Mr. and Mrs. Jones are fabulous life ahead (you know EVERYbody will be trying to keep up with these Joneses!!) Thank you again for choosing Old South to tell your story.
