It is always so sweet to me when the mother-of-the-bride is my first source of contact. Whether she reached out through the contact form on our website or calls to leave a message at our studio, she is the first one to show interest in Old South.
Her daughter has recently become engaged and, somehow, the responsibility of photographer-shopping has been placed on her “to-do list”. I do my best to give her a personal return phone call because SO much has changed about the wedding industry since her wedding day back in the 60s, 70s or even 80s. Those were the days of film photography where the photographer retained all negatives and the only way to possess any photographs from the big day was to purchase standard prints directly through the photographer. A phone call is typically in order to explain the way we operate our business and how digital negatives are utilized post-wedding in the current wedding market. Gone are the days of those BIG black photo albums with 5 x 7 inserts and print collections of (1) 8 x 10, (2) 5 x7s and (16) wallets. So, once we get everyone on the same page, we can begin discussing how Old South would capture her daughter’s big day.
I sat down with Melanie and her Mom, Donna, in our studio 10 days after that first phone call and I knew this couple would be a perfect fit for Old South. They are such sweet, kind and loving people…exactly the type we can do our best work with!
Melanie and Wes’ March wedding day was so full of joy. Every family member, every bridesmaid, every groomsmen and of course, our bride and groom, were so happy to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter. One of love, family, hope and commitment….Alisha and Alyssa did a beautiful joy telling their story this day. We wish them both a lifetime of amazing memories ahead.
