Now before you dive into these destination wedding images and fall head over heels in love with this venue, below are the dates they still have open for this same holiday-inspired wedding look!
November 30th, December 7th, December 14th, December 28th of 2019 (AND yours truly is free those dates too to capture all the magic!)
Seriously, this NC destination wedding venue in Murphy, NC blew us away! Alyssa and I have shot destination weddings in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, St. Martin, Charleston, Kiawah Island, Highlands, Blowing Rock, Boone….but this gem in Murphy is in a league of its own.
The tremendous staff takes AMAZING care of the wedding party. They have full sized HOMES on site for for everyone to stay in amazing cabins together. Their attention to detail (they provide the florals, linens, bar setup, catering) makes planning a NC mountain wedding from afar so easy. My bride lives in out of state and only visited the property once before her 11.24.18 wedding. But she would tell you herself, Natalie and the team went above and beyond for these families for the entire wedding weekend. Now, back to this dreamy 11.24.18 wedding day for Shelby and Gabie!
I think I’ve mentioned before that Old South brides have a common thread- they are very driven (about 50% work in the medical field), highly organized and are VERY close to their families. Shelby is all of those descriptions! She is finishing her residency in Houston so her sweet Mom, Robin, came up to Charlotte solo to meet with me in the studio. We had THE BEST conversation and I knew they were “my people”.
With everyone living in different cities and planning a destination wedding at the edge of western NC, this family needed help! As I mentioned, the venue provided nearly everything you could need on wedding day so we just swooped in to capture all the love, joy and emotion they felt this day.
One of the sweetest moments of the day was when Shelby and Robin Facetimed her grandmother back in FL. She wasn’t able to make the trip but was able to watch the ceremony live through technology. Tears flowed between all of these ladies and the love they feel (carried down 3 generations) was super sweet to capture.
It’s safe to say that Gabie and Shelby enjoyed every minute of this day. And can we talk about that fairytale ceremony in the woods with the mountains in the distance? WOW!
Their last dance, all alone in the venue with everyone outside lighting sparklers, was one of the dreamiest I have ever shot. He spun her around that whole room and its hard to say if EITHER of them ever felt their feet touch the ground. That’s true love and we were the lucky ones who got to capture it!
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Williams. I think we enjoyed your destination wedding as much as you did!
