Have you ever been to a restaurant that has a framed one dollar bill on the wall? It probably says something like “First Dollar Spent” or “First Sale” wrtiten on it marking the beginning of a great chapter in that business’ life.
Well, Brenna and Brad’s engagement session below is a big first for Old South Studios. As you may know, we hired the super talented Elly Russell in January of this year to be a lead wedding photographer for us (she brings 7 years of wedding photography experience to our company).
For the last 6 years, I (Julie) have photographed each and every wedding, e-session and bridal session bearing our company’s name. I knew the time had come for me to release some control and let the company expand. By August of 2012, my shooting calendar for 2013 was nearly full. We were beginning to turn away couples which made no sense. (read more about our rebranding, name change, etc. HERE) Growth is never an easy task when you have raised up a small business from a hobby to a full-fledged company with your own two hands. But,t the timing was right. So, we set our sights on expansion and began carefully considering who would be our next lead wedding photographer. It takes great trust and confidence in another person to let go of the reigns and I have found all of that in Elly. She now covers overflow Charlotte weddings along with the Triad region of NC, Raleigh and Washington, D.C. area. See more of her outstanding portfolio HERE.
Brenna and Brad were the first couple to ever sign a wedding contract with Old South fully trusting Elly to shoot their wedding and engagement photos. So on this shoot, I stepped aside and let Elly do what she does best…….create amazing images! So consider the images below our framed one dollar bill marking the beginning of amazing things to come
From now on, you will see names on each image we post because they are no longer 100% mine. We are incredibly blessed to have Elly on the team and want to honor her talent by crediting her work. Brenna and Brad, thank you for believing in our growing company and trusting us with your story. The images below are full of JOY and laughter- just like you two lovebirds who met long ago at Clemson University in a business writing class. Tell that fur baby, Stan, he did an excellent job modeling for us as well! We can’t wait for your September 2013 wedding.
Thank you to The Ivy Place in SC for hosting us. Your property and this session have Old South written all over it 😉
