It’s no secret, I (Julie- company owner/blogger), am a Type A personality. I love order, organization, making lists and checking them off, etc. I think that underlying drive is what made Angel and I feel more like kindred spirits from day one rather than photographer/client.
This girl is DRIVEN. She is incredibly smart and works as an attorney. When she graduated law school a few years ago, her girlfriends took her out for a night on the town to celebrate. They met up with a group of guys and Angel remembers spotting Billy from across the room. She was bold and persistent (as she is with all things!) and made it her mission to talk to this handsome fella. They spent hours getting to know one another and….the rest is history.
When Angel and Billy first became engaged, they were hoping for a Christmas wedding. But, after venue hunting and coordinating with the church, the closest date they could find was January 7. They asked both the Duke Mansion and their church to keep all Christmas decor up through their wedding weekend so that touch of Christmas could be felt. It was magical!!
Along the course of their engagement, Billy’s mother’s health began to decline. I was well aware that the couple prayed weekly at mass that she could be well enough to travel from up north to witness their big day. They went back and forth flying to see her in the months leading up to January but they were not sure she could make the trip down for the wedding. But, with all things we pray for with our full hearts, God granted her safe travel and good health and Billy’s Mom was able to come. Seeing the joy in Billy and Angel’s faces when they looked at her was just as beautiful as they love they share together. I know how much it meant to have her there.
January 7, 2017 also brought a few inches of snow. As photographers, we were THRILLED!! Snow at the The Duke Mansion? Yes please!! Their winter/Christmas fairytale gained another level of beauty that day. Alyssa and I were honored to tell this beautiful love story.
P. S. If you are bride looking for a ROCKING band…20 Ride brought the house down!! This Zac Brown tribute band was on fire this night and we can’t recommend these talented artists enough!
Enjoy a walk through their wintery wedding day. May God continue to bless you both! (Full vendor list at bottom of post)
