Sarah and Matt’s wedding was the 150th wedding I’ve captured. However, please don’t misunderstand the last statement. I can honestly say, even after all these years of shooting wedding after wedding, they are still….EACH….oh so special to me. You see, I do not approach each Saturday as a basic formula. Each wedding is truly unique. There is a one-of-a-kind love story between two people just waiting to be told. And I’m the lucky one who gets to illustrate it. My couples (and their families) invite me into the most intimate, sentimental moments of their lives and it renews my faith in love and wedding photography each and every weekend. Of course the years have sharpened my technical skills but if anything, the experience, continues to soften my heart and I hope you can FEEL how much I adored capturing this wedding.
Sarah and Matt met about 7 years ago through mutual friends in Wilmington, NC. The next summer they began dating. These two are a perfect match. They love to dress up, dance the night away with friends and view life as one big adventure. Matt even proposed to Sarah high atop the Empire State Building in New York (as an homage to her favorite movie, “An Affair to Remember”). They are also both extremely close with their families. The love they share with those around them is infectious and many sweet tears were shed on 1.17.15 at Carmel Country Club.
Sarah is a photographer’s dream. She is DROP DEAD gorgeous and loves all things sparkly. As much as my lens loves her pretty face, I also love this girl’s big heart with the same enthusiasm. Many years ago, she was the after school teacher for my elementary-aged daughters. She showered with them with love and affection each afternoon (and of course impressed them with her ever changing style and make-up tips). To know Sarah is to love Sarah. She is upbeat, loving, caring, thoughtful and remembers every tiny detail involving the ones she loves.
So, on this day, it was my pleasure to honor her with the same love and affection she freely gives to others. I hope the wedding images below give you a small glimpse into the sweet, touching ceremony between two people perfectly in love. In true Sarah style, it was dripping with glitter and champagne but the overriding theme of the day was….
Thank you, Matt and Sarah, for trusting me with your engagement session (take one on the rooftop HERE and take two in the field HERE) and your precious wedding day. I hope your children’s children will look back on these images and know they came from a beautiful love story told long ago….it WAS an affair to remember.
