Valentine’s Day 2011. A friend set up McKenzie and Cris at a fraternity Valentine’s cocktail party at UNC- Chapel Hill. Sparks flew!
Fast forward to February 8, 2017 (Feb. 8 just so happened to be the same date McKenzie’s Dad asked her Mom to marry him!), Cris asked McKenzie to marry him on a trip in Steamboat, CO and she of course said yes!
Then, on Feb. 21, I was standing in the Atlanta airport just a few minutes from boarding a plane to Grand Cayman and McKenzie sent me an e-mail. She was referred to us by her venue, the Ballantyne Country Club (whom we LOVE!) , so I had to take a quick minute to chat with her. Standing beside the busy Starbucks in Hartsfield International Airport, over the noise of a busy terminal, I knew she was an Old South bride. She told me in that conversation that having a fun party and beautiful photos were her top priorities so we set up a follow up meeting right there. On March 5, she and her Mom visited our studio and she officially became an Old South bride . We couldn’t be more excited!
Alisha did a beautiful job capturing their nostalgic engagement session on their favorite campus in the world. McKenzie and Cris fell in love on that campus so the location was perfect.
Tarheel love in full effect, y’all! We can’t wait for their May 2018 wedding at our neighbors’ place (the Ballantyne Country Club is just one mile away from our studio).
