Kacie attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. She now works as a P.A. in Charlotte, NC but that love of the historic, South Carolina low country is still alive and well in this bride.
She first contacted me about possibly getting married at The Battery in the most famous pavilion in Charleston (right by the waterfront and Rainbow Row). But, as the guest count grew, she and Marcus decided a wedding closer to home would be a bit easier. So, when we sat down in the studio, she told me she was open to venue options in NC. Given that we have captured weddings in Charlotte for 8 years now, I could easily tell which venues would suit her style. So, she left that night with a list of venues to tour and me (as her wedding photographer).
She is a hobbist photographer herself and had followed my work for a few years prior to meeting Marcus. I too have a medical background, love for all things “Old South” and of course photography so we were an instant match. This bride knew the photography style she wanted to capture the happiest day of her life!
Kacie and Marcus are beginning a very exciting and new chapter together. He brings 3 children to their happily ever after and she has 2. They are both so committed to keeping God at the center of it all…their marriage, their parenting and their new family. Seeing their joy also radiate in their children on wedding day was a double dose of happiness. Alyssa and I spent as much time with their adorable children as we did the new Mr. and Mrs. Moody! Those little charmers were hard to resist with our cameras!
Enjoy a walk through their March 25, 2017 wedding at the Brawley Estate in Mooresville, NC. Kacie said she knew this historic venue was “the one” the second she pulled up for her site tour with David. It’s as close to Charleston as it gets here in NC. They were wed on the lawn adjacent to the stunning home, under a huge magnolia tree and hosted a gorgeous, sunny reception on the porches.
It doesn’t get more Old South than this. Thank you both for trusting us to tell your story! I think your wedding images beat you home from that 2 week honeymoon in Paris. Welcome home!
